*Credit hours are what concessionary members wanting a garden ‘make-over’ (or ‘Action Day’) contribute to the project in exchange. At least half of these 8 hours must be completed in a private garden of another GRO-FUN participant. Full members do not have to contribute these hours as they will pay a higher membership fee. Action Days are subject to volunteer availability and dates are subject to change.

NB Action Day hosts must pay for their own materials (wood, compost, seeds etc). Volunteers will be asked to bring food to share.

Your subscription helps GRO-FUN:

- inform the public of our activities by updating our website, making short films, writing articles for the local and national press and attending events to promote our work.

- pay council rent to keep the Many Hands allotment running.

- rent a small office.

- pay for materials such seed, compost and timber for the Many Hands allotment.

- help raise awareness of the wider issues around localised and organic food production.

Benefits for the wider community/environment.

-you are sponsoring a not-for-profit, local, grassroots, volunteer-run project whose aims include helping a cross-section of the community become more self-reliant.

-you’re saying that the growing and eating of healthy, sustainably-produced food and the work that GRO-FUN is doing to enable people to grow and eat this food is important to you.

- you’re helping to build necessary alternatives to the heavily-polluting, abusive and unsustainable practices inherent in our industrialised food industry. Practices such as the destruction of the world’s eco-systems, massive CO2 emissions (production, packaging and transportation), poor conditions for workers, inadequate animal rights and genetic engineering- to name but a few.
