*Credit hours are what concessionary
members wanting a garden ‘make-over’ (or ‘Action Day’) contribute to the
project in exchange. At least half of these 8 hours must be completed in a
private garden of another GRO-FUN participant. Full members do not have to
contribute these hours as they will pay a higher membership fee. Action Days
are subject to volunteer availability and dates are subject to change.
NB Action
Day hosts must pay for their own materials (wood, compost, seeds etc). Volunteers
will be asked to bring food to share.

Benefits
for the wider community/environment.

volunteer-run project whose aims include helping a cross-section of the
community become more self-reliant.
-you’re saying that the growing and eating of healthy,
sustainably-produced food and the work that GRO-FUN is doing to enable people
to grow and eat this food is important to you.
- you’re helping to build necessary alternatives to the heavily-polluting,
abusive and unsustainable practices inherent in our industrialised food
industry. Practices such as the destruction of the world’s eco-systems, massive
CO2 emissions (production, packaging and transportation), poor conditions for
workers, inadequate animal rights and genetic engineering- to name but a few.
